The Harbor Island Weigh Station was buzzing in the final moments of the Typhoon Yellowtail Bloodydecks Shootout on June 25th. The men of the boat Megabyte were hoping that their fish would place them in the Tournament, waiting for the cutoff at 6pm. Travis Prewett of the Megabyte brought in a 21.6 lb yellowtail landing them in 7th place. The tournament organizers took the Shootout back to where it originally started in Mission Bay, and with entry fees reflective of that first tournament. The fish weren’t biting like everyone had hoped, but enough fish were brought in to compile 1st through 8th place. The field was only separated by a total of 2 lbs from top to bottom, making the competition fierce. The first place fish, at 23.3 lbs, was brought in by the boat Profish, netting them $11,260 in cash and $2,800 in prizes. Final numbers for entries saw 52 boats and 183 anglers competing in the 2011 Yellowtail Shootout.
