“Tight lines and good times” at the 2011 Bermuda Billfish Blast

The first leg of the Bermuda Triple Crown kicks off July 3-7 with the Bermuda Billfish Blast. This annual tournament brings fishermen from far and wide for this qualifying event, competing for big fish and points.  Participants in any of the three tournaments within the Triple Crown receive a spot in the Bermuda Triple Crown Billfish Championship. With blue marlin weighing in at more than 500 pounds on average, these three tournaments that comprise the Bermuda Triple Crown are easily some of the most demanding and competitive in the world.

The boat Que Mas was the big winner in last years tournament with 5 blue releases, 1 white release, 2,700 points, a cash purse of $169,860, and an invitation to the IGFA Offshore World Championship in Cabo San Lucas.  If last years results are any indication of what this year could look like, it will be a thrilling tournament to witness.
